Oliver Tessier

With boards of directors, CEOs, and senior management teams, Oliver Tessier builds the capacity of organizations through planning, coaching, education, and facilitation. His clients range from the Smithsonian Institution, where Oliver advises leadership of the Freer and Sackler Galleries; to SAE International, a source of global standards for the mobility industries; to BoardSource, “the nation's primary education resource for nonprofit boards of directors.” 

Until 2001, Oliver was Executive Director of the Support Center of Washington, the most comprehensive training and consulting resource for nonprofits in the metro DC area at that time. Under Oliver's leadership, the Center served approximately 2,500 nonprofit clients annually, including two separate series of Nonprofit Leadership Development Institutes created in partnership with Georgetown University. As part of the Support Center’s consulting team, Oliver provided services that focused on nonprofit governance and board development.

Previously, Oliver was Vice President for Finance and Administration for Planned Parenthood of New York City and the first organizational development officer for the Public Education Network. He is a long-standing member of BoardSource's Editorial Advisory Board and a former member of the Global Committee for the Future of Organizational Development.
